Glen Eira Community Voice is an opportunity to provide regular and ongoing input to Council on a range of local issues and projects, even those that may not directly impact you, because it’s important for us to hear perspectives from our whole community.
Anyone can participate as long as you are a Glen Eira resident and over the age of 18 years. No prior knowledge or experience is necessary. Registration is quick and easy and you can opt out at any time.
Community Voice members are asked to complete up to eight online activities (surveys and quick polls) per year.
Information provided by Community Voice helps Council to better understand community views and to make important decisions about its future.
From time to time there may be other opportunities for Community Voice members to be involved in special discussion forums and face-to-face engagement opportunities.
Glen Eira Community Voice is a sample of the Glen Eira resident community. It was developed to statistically mirror the resident population of Glen Eira in terms of age, gender and suburb. This is based on the 2021 Census data to ensure a representative sample. People who are not residents in Glen Eira were not included in the 2021 Census data count and as a result are not included in Glen Eira Community Voice.
Glen Eira Community Voice is only one form of community engagement that Glen Eira uses. Non-resident ratepayers and businesses owners are welcomed and encouraged to participate in other ways, such as through Have Your Say Glen Eira. You can also sign up to Council’s Community Engagement E-newsletter for information on open, active and closed projects.
People under the age of 18 are not legally allowed to provide consent to join Glen Eira Community Voice. In addition, Glen Eira Community Voice consultations will be through online surveys, which may not be suitable for younger children. Glen Eira has specific consultation approaches designed to capture the views and aspirations of our younger community members.
Young people are encouraged to view current consultations on Glen Eira’s website, or sign up to Council’s Community Engagement E-newsletter.
Yes. You may opt out of Community Voice at any time by notifying the Community Voice Administrator. The initial membership term is two years, but in most cases you will be able to stay on Community Voice for as long as you are willing.
Council will draw on the input from Community Voice to inform, influence and guide our decision-making activities, policies and planning. We are committed to keeping Community Voice members informed of the outcomes of each engagement activity and how the outcomes have been included in our decisions.
No. Community Voice activities do not require participants to have expert knowledge, skills or experience. While we want participants to be able to provide informed feedback on topics, further reading is not essential.

These Terms apply to all visitors and users of this site. Linked sites, affiliated services or third party content or software have their own Terms that you must comply with. If you disagree with any of the Terms presented in this agreement, you may discontinue using the site immediately.
If you are under 18 years old, please ensure that your parent or guardian understands and accepts these Terms and Conditions (including the Privacy Policy and Moderation Policy).
What are the conditions with a user’s account?
While using the site, you must not violate any applicable laws and regulations. It is our duty to protect the confidentiality of content you provide on our site in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Glen Eira City Council, its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, licensors and other partners are not responsible for any loss, liability, claim, or demand, including legal fees, made by any third party due to or arising from a breach of this agreement and/or any breach of your representations and warranties set forth above.
What content do we own?
This website contains the copyrighted material, trademarks, patents, trade secrets and other proprietary information (“Intellectual Property”) of Glen Eira City Council and its suppliers and licensors. Glen Eira City Council owns and retains all proprietary rights in the intellectual property. All intellectual property in the content of this site including without limitation to text, software, source code, pages, documents and online graphics, photographs, sounds, audio, video and other interactive features are owned by or licensed to us.
Any original content that you submit or post on our site may be made available to the public and allows users to share your content (with the end user acknowledging your contribution) under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 Australian License.
Except for Intellectual Property which is in the public domain or for which you have been given written permission, you may not copy, alter, transmit, sell, distribute any of the Intellectual Property on this site.
