We know that good lighting along local streets helps access for residents and supports street character and amenity. That’s why we are looking to provide four new light poles on Lempriere Avenue.
What is changing?
We are proposing four new street light poles on the western side of the street which will provide consistent and clear lighting that meets industry standards. We want to hear your preference for the style of the poles.
The first option (option one) is a standard silver arch shaped pole — like what you see on most streets, and the second option (option two) is a black, cross shaped pole — a darker pole that is less obvious and has more of a heritage feel.
The silver poles would be complimentary from United Energy, the energy provider and the black poles would incur a cost of approximately $10,000 to Council.
The existing white light poles along the street will be retained for their aesthetic charm. They will no longer serve as primary sources of light for the street as they are unable to be repaired.
Have Your Say
We’d like to hear your feedback about the style of poles that we put on the street. The opportunity for feedback is open until Wednesday 31 July 2024.
